The Jungle Book (2016) Review

I'm reviewing The Jungle Book, directed by John Favreau, starring Bill Murray, Idris Elba and Bill Kingsley. Sadly I missed this in theaters, so I didn't get to enjoy the 3D which I heard was great. A little back story: I really enjoyed the original Disney version growing up and I also loved the 1994 motion picture. After watching this, I must say I liked this film too. They captured the original story very well and the visuals were outstanding. Before this film came out, I was scared the CGI would be crazy but after watching this, I felt like it was done very well. It almost looked practical with animatronics. The only visual problem I had was the snake was poorly done and it looked incredibly SyFy Channel-ish. Also, a couple of scenes of Shere Khan were obviously CGI. Other than that, the rest of the film looked great and I felt like they used real animals. The kid that played Mowgli did very well. The story was verbatim from the original though, which was kind of a bummer but I still enjoyed it overall. Its gonna be an 8/10 for me. Comment below and tell me what you thought of the film.
