Barbershop: The Next Cut Review

I'm reviewing Barbershop: The Next Cut, the third installment of the series. I remember in the early 2000s when 1&2 came out. They were both somewhat of a hit. I remember enjoying both on an average level. Cedric The Entertainer manages to steal the show yet again. So they go with a more story driven plot, mainly about what's going on with the world today especially the high crime rate in Chicago that's forcing Calvin (Ice Cube) to make a decision whether to move his shop to the nice white collar part of Chicago. By doing so, Calvin would have to abandon his roots where his father started or stay and try to fight the violence that's hurting his family and community. As for the story, I'd say it's the best one yet. The comedy is the same as the other 2 movies. For my cons, I really find Nikki Minaj very annoying as hell and she makes me want to pull my hair out. Also, they could have left out some of the " blame and hate whitey" crap. Other than that, it wasn't bad, just a forgettable film. Cedric is still funny as hell. I'm going to give this a 6.5/10. If you seen the other 2, then check this one out.
