Fargo Season 1 is a dark comedy/crime anthology series on FX starring Billy Bob Thornton, Allison Tolman, Colin Hanks, and Martin Freeman. Now, a little back story. I grew up with the 10/10 flawless classic dark comedy/crime Fargo (1996) film from the Coen Brothers, which starred Steve Buscemi, Frances Mcdormand, William H Macy, and Peter Stormare. It's stands to this day in my top 50 best movie list. Anyways, in Season 1 we're in 2006, 19 years after the events of the film. Lorne Malvo (Billy Bob Thornton) passes through Beridji, Minnesota running into an insurance salesman named Lester Nygaard (Martin Freeman) with Malvo causing violent behavior where the bodies start to pop up all over the place. Meanwhile, Deputy Molly Solverson (Allison Tolman) teams up with police officer Gus Grimly (Colin Hanks) to solve a series of murders they believe may be linked to Malvo and Nygaard. This show has such a great cast, chemistry, score, amazing dialogue, and a phenomenal story. I rank this as my second all-time favorite TV show behind my favorite ever made, Breaking Bad. The show stays true to the feel of the 1996 classic. It's a 9.5/10 for me. If I had to change one thing, I might have changed the ending a little better, but it still works. I highly recommend this show and I'm going to check out Season 2 soon.
