Finding Dory Written Review

Today I'm reviewing Finding Dory, the sequel to the 2003 Pixar film, Finding Nemo. It stars Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Ed O'Neill, Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy. Finding Nemo is one of my favorite Pixar films next to The Toy Story trilogy and they captured a great story about a father who loses his son and his mission in finding him before he loses him for good. Finding Nemo is a 9.5/10 for me.... Now after waiting for 13 long years, we finally get a sequel to it. This time, it actually takes place right after the events of Finding Nemo. Dory is on a mission to find her parents whom she got seperated from when she was a baby. Her journey takes her to a zoo-like aquarium where she believes they're residing but when arriving, she ends up getting captured and lost. Now Nemo and his father are on the journey looking for Dory in this aquatic sanctuary. I really did enjoy this film a lot. It had beautiful visuals like all of Pixar's films. They didn't really rehash the same material from previous film which was great, they did something different. Instead of the ocean, it takes place mostly in an aquarium center. I did have minor issue: they seemed to get from one place to another very fast, making the ocean feel quite smaller that what it really is. I also wish we could have seen more ocean life, but we still get to see newer animals while seeing some of the original characters from the first one like the California Surfer Turtle. Overall, it was adorable, emotional and a beautiful story. So, I'm gonna go with an 8.5/10.
