The Do-Over Review

Good morning. I'm reviewing The Do-Over, directed by Steven Brill (Little Nicky, Mr. Deeds, Without a Paddle, Heavyweights and Drillbit Taylor ) all of which were great movies. The Do Over stars Adam Sandler and David Spade. Produced by Adam Sandler and an addition to the Happy Madison production company, it's about unhappy bank manager Charlie McMillan (David Spade) who reunites with an old childhood friend Max Kessler (Adam Sandler) at a high school reunion. When Charlie tells Max about how bad his life has been after parting ways years ago, Max decides to take Charlie on a boating trip to try to help him get his head on straight, or that's what Charlie thinks. Max decides to fake both of their deaths so they can start their lives over again with new identities. When realizing the identities they took were from two guys that were mixed up with some bad people, They must reveal what the two original guys that they're portraying are mixed up in before they end up meeting the same fate. Now I saw this trailer and to me it felt like another low standard Adam Sandler movie we've been seeing lately that came out on Netflix and the only thing I could remember that was his last absolutely worst film to date was his 2015 Netflix release movie (that is tied with his worst theatrical release Jack and Jill) known as The Ridiculous 6. I'm not going to lie, I was worried even though I have a soft spot for Adam Sandler and I love his films. Even though he's made some bad ones in recent years, I was actually surprised with this movie. At first, I was a little burned out with some of the stupid juvenile potty humor, but it actually got funnier as the film went along. Not to mention, I really enjoyed the story. It shows that if Adam puts his mind to it, I feel that he can actually really write some great comedies that also adds some emotions like what he did with the movie Hi Eddie again this way too early in the morning and I'm going ' The Do Over ' directed by Steven Brill ( Little Nicky , Mr . Im not going to lie I was worried even tho I have a soft spot for Adam Sandler and love his films . Even tho he's made some bad ones in recent years . Too be honest I was actually surprised with ' The Do Over '. At first , i was a little burn out with some of the stupid juvenile potty humor but it actually got funnier as the film went along . Not to mention I really enjoyed the story . It shows that if Adam puts his mind to it . I feel that he can actually really write some great comedies that also adds some emotions like what he did with the movie ' Click' . Sadly Hollywood hates Adam Sandler so much he's basically getting alot of his films shot down and he's having to settle with Netflix . Yes , I know Adam's a hit/miss with his movies . I've seen way worse movies that don't involve him . I really did like this film . Sadly you can tell it has a bit of a cheaply made feel to it since it's a Netflix film . It started out kind of boring for me and I was worried at first but it pays off. Some of the potty humor was dual in the beginning. Some of the small CGI used looked noticeable but man the story ends up with a lot of twists and emotions . Anyways I'm going to give this film a 7.5/10 . What did you think about this film ? Comment below and I'll see you on my next review Click. Sadly, Hollywood hates Adam Sandler so much he's basically getting a lot of his films shot down and he's having to settle with Netflix.
