I'm reviewing Forsaken, a Western/Drama directed by Jon Cassar, starring Donald Sutherland, Kiefer Sutherland and Demi Moore. Kiefer Sutherland plays an ex gun slinger named John Clayton, who looks for redemption and returns to his home town to repair his relationship with his father (Donald Sutherland). A local gang run by James McCurdy (Brian Cox) terrorizes a town by killing locals and taking the land. The town turns to John in hoping he can fix the problem before it gets worse. This film really flew under the radar. It was an ok film. It's not really my taste as it's really more for the older folks and western drama fans. I expected more from this film but it's pretty standard and it lacks depth. Not much really goes on and there is 0 intensity. It does look more like it's a Western TV series instead of a film. It has a very authentic look like an old western film, which I respect. Like I said, it's extremely standard and has no bets are off to it. The performances were great and it was cool seeing father/son playing in a film together, but I wish they could have done more with it. I'm going to give this a 5/10. Not bad, it just wasn't that great.
