Stranger Things Review

Eddie here again. Tonight I'm reviewing Stranger Things, an 8 episode series on Netflix starring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown. Stranger Things takes us to a small town known as Hawkins, Indiana on November, 1983 where a boy named Will Byers suddenly disappears without a trace. Will's mother, Joyce (Winona Ryder) and her older son decide to look for Will themselves while the town police chief launches his own investigation. While all that's going on, Will's friends Dustin, Mike and Louis find a girl named Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) who has psychokinetic powers and claims to know Will's location. As they all get closer to the truth, an underground government agency tries to cover everything up while an evil force lurks the town. This show was absolutely amazing. They captured the 80s look perfectly. What's also amazing is they actually captured the show to look exactly like horror/sci-fi films we got in the 80s. Its kind of got an E.T., Stand By Me, and Poltergeist feel to the show. For the most part, I like a lot of the practical effects they use, which is what was big back then so that makes sense. I thought the creature was ok. I wish they could have made him scarier. The performances were great and the look of it was awesome. I did enjoy the story a lot. The scores fits perfect for the show and it has a really 80s horror feel with the sound. Anyways, I like this show a lot and can't wait for Season 2 . I'm going to give Stranger Things a 9.5/10 . I highly recommend it.
