Eddie here. Today I'm reviewing The BFG, directed by Steven Spielberg, starring Mark Rylance, Ruby Barnhill, Bill Hader and Rebecca Hall. The BFG is a fantasy film that's based on a classic children's fable book written by Roald Dahl, which I read back in grade school. It's about a girl named Sophie (Ruby Barnhill) who befriends a gentle giant, who is considered an outcast in the giant world due to his lack in size compared to the others and not having an appetite for children. The two develop a great friendship and team up together to form a plan to get rid of 5 nasty giants that want to make the BFG's life hell. I liked this film. It was beautifully shot with very gorgeous cinematography/ visuals. I was a little upset that I didn't get to see this in 3D because I've heard it's one of the best 3D films of 2016. I enjoyed all of the performances. Now I do have some minor flaws. The story is very simple and there's really nothing to it with them fighting the mean giants at the end. Some parts also do get a bit boring, but overall it was still a fun film. It's mainly for children. I don't have much more I can say but to check it out with your family sometime. I'm going to give The BFG a 7/10 .
