Snowden Review

Eddie here again. Tonight I'm reviewing Snowden, a biography/drama/thriller directed by Oliver Stone that stars Joseph Gordon Levitt, Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Nicolas Cage, Tom Wilkinson, Scott Eastwood, Timothy Olyphant, Edward Snowden himself and many more. Snowden reveals the incredible untold true story of Edward Snowden, an ex-NSA/CIA operative who exposed shocking illegal surveillance activities by the NSA and became the world's most wanted man. A hero to some and a traitor to others in this edge of your seat potential Oscar winning thriller. When I saw the trailer for this film, I thought it looked good but I stayed skeptical since Oliver Stone directed it. Even though he's a fantastic director, he's had some not so great films in the past 15 years, with the exception of a few films. Man was this a great film. I really enjoyed this a lot. It had beautiful cinematography that resembles a mix of Michael Mann's Miami Vice and Gone Girl look. The performances were all fantastic. The writing was Oscar worthy in my opinion, but what makes this film stand out the most is Joseph Gordon Levitt's portrayal as Edward Snowden. WOW, talking about an Oscar nomination for best actor 2016 please! He straight out nails this role 110%. It's one of his best performances yet. Anyways, I absolutely loved this movie. It's definitely in my top 10 Best films of 2016. All I have to say is welcome back Oliver Stone. I highly recommend it and with little to no flaws, I'm going to give Snowden a 9.5/10.
