Deepwater Horizon (Eddie's Review)

Eddie Williams

Eddie here. Tonight I'm reviewing Deepwater Horizon, directed by Peter Berg, starring Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, John Malkovich, Kate Hudson and Ethan Suplee. Deepwater Horizon is a 2016 disaster film that's based on true events from the April 2010 where a BP offshore oil rig exploded, killing many of its crew members. Talk about a phenomenal film done by Peter Berg and the cast was outstanding with their performances. I really enjoy when Mark Wahlberg does these type of films. I truly think that's when he's at his best. I also praise John Malkovich's performance. He really nails the Louisiana Cajun accent. The cinematography was beautiful like most Peter Berg films and everything looked practical with the effects. This film has great emotion that can get your tears flowing. Definitely one of the best disaster films I've seen in a long time and it will make my top 10 best films of 2016 list. I highly recommend 'Deepwater Horizon' and I'm going to give it a 9/10. Justin also did a video review of the film, so check it out at your convenience on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGUtSFVkScA
