Dirty Grandpa (Justin's Review)

Justin here. I'm reviewing Dirty Grandpa, starring Robert De Niro and Zac Efron. It's the story of Jason Kelly (Zac Efron) who's a lawyer that goes on a road trip with his grandpa Richard Kelly (Robert De Niro) to Boca Raton, Florida after attending his grandmother's funeral. Along the way, Richard decides to have fun with his life and go to spring break parties and chase younger women. Now, I heard this film got quite panned by a lot of folks. I'll be honest, I actually thought this was funny. I really enjoyed De Niro's performance, along with his and Efron's chemistry together. Every scene they were together in, I was having a blast and it had some really vulgar and dirty humor that I expected from the title of the movie that had me laughing in parts. I also liked the whole spring break party feel of the movie as well. There are some flaws though. I couldn't stand the 2 Florida cops that arrest Efron's character throughout the movie. Their humor dragged out way too much and it took me out of the movie when I watched it. Plus there were some jokes that were cringe-worthy but it was sporadic. I also didn't really care for the Nick character, but he wasn't really in it that much. Plus, the drug dealer character I was hit and miss with. Sometimes I would chuckle, but then other times he would just be doing the same joke over again. Overall though, I thought it was a descent comedy and I guess I'm one of the few that liked it. I give it a 6.5/10. You can also check out Eddie's review of it on YouTube at your convenience as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3LKi_74HsY
