Fifty Shades of Black Review

Justin here. I'm reviewing Fifty Shades Of Black, written and starring Marlon Wayans. The film is a spoof on Fifty Shades Of Grey and is the story of Christian Black (Marlon Wayans) who meets a woman named Hannah Steale (Tone Royal) and much like Fifty Shades Of Grey, he persuades her into signing a contract to be pleasured with BDSM. Now a little backstory. I'll be honest, I liked a lot of the Wayans Brothers' films, especially Don't Be a Menace, Scary Movie, Scary Movie 2 and even White Chicks. I felt like there was a time that both Marlon and his brother Shawn were doing funny spoofs of films that I enjoyed and I got into their humor for a while. But then, after Marlon tried bringing that kind of comedy back into films like A Haunted House, it showed that he was just reusing the same shtick that was already done to death. After watching this one, I felt like I wanted to beat my fucking head in and wanted it to be over as soon as it started. This film doesn't even try to be a spoof. Every single scene is beat for beat trying to copy Fifty Shades, it has some of the worst slapstick humor I've seen since Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd with characters constantly running into stuff or getting beaten and it didn't make me laugh at all. The characters were so obnoxious and so ditzy that I felt like I was watching something from one of the current SNL sketches. On top of that shit, I felt like I was Malcom McDowell in A Clockwork Orange every time I saw this really annoying stereotypical character played by Jenny Zigrino who is Hannah's friend in the movie. Her scenes were so cringe worthy, I felt like I wanted to split my eyes open wide. This was such a piece of crap, I wouldn't even call it a spoof. The only small part I laughed in this was a part that came near the end that didn't really have to do with the rest of the film because it was a cutaway joke. But other than that, this was one of the worst spoof movies I've seen along with Meet The Blacks from 2016. I'm going to give this a 1/10. If I want to watch better spoof movies, I'll stick with The Kentucky Fried Movie and even Scary Movie 1&2. If you'll excuse me, I have to go find something that will help me get this out of my mind.
