The Autopsy Of Jane Doe Review

Eddie here. Tonight I'm reviewing The Autopsy of Jane Doe starring Brian Cox and Emile Hirsch. The Autopsy of Jane Doe is a 2016 festival limited release supernatural film about a father and son who work in their family owned mortuary. When an unidentified body of a young woman is brought into being examined for the cause of death, many unexplained supernatural events start to unfold. I did like this film, but it has a few problems. Starting with my pros, I really enjoyed Emile and Brian's chemistry. Both are great actors and I thought both of them blended well with each other. It's extremely gory throughout this film, especially when they do autopsies on bodies. It kind of reminded me of the graphic autopsy scene in Saw 4. It also reminded me of 1408 but with the film taking place in a morgue. Plus, I enjoyed the creepy song that kept on playing before something scary happens. It has a great twist which I really enjoyed. Now to my cons of this film. Even though I stated that I enjoyed both Emile and Brian's performances, there were a few times where both their lines and acting fell apart a tiny bit. I also thought all of the jump scares were way too predictable and standard. When they get to the supernatural part, it feels kind of rushed a bit which kind of sucked. Other than that, it was a decent flick and it's worth the watch, so go check it out at your convenience. Anyways, I'm going to give The Autopsy of Jane Doe a 6.5/10.
