Eddie here and tonight I'm reviewing Arrival, directed by Denis Villeneuve (who directed Sicario and Prisoners ), starring Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Forest Whitaker. This is the final film I am reviewing that was from 2016. Arrival is a Sci-Fi / Drama about 12 mysterious space crafts that touchdown across the globe. An elite team, lead by expert Louise Banks, are brought in to help solve the mystery why these strange creatures came to earth and what their purpose is. I have to say, this film is one of Amy Adams' best performances of her career. It's a shame she wasn't nominated for Best Actress. Arrival is a very emotional film, especially in the beginning. The cinematography is absolutely amazing and it should win an Oscar for it. The score is great and the performances by all the other cast members were fantastic. If you watch this film, I do recommend that you pay close attention because you may get lost as the story progresses. That being said, I was a bit bored with it at times with some of the dialogue because this is more of a drama and not your Independence Day type flick. I also noticed their were some obvious CGI shots, but overall the visuals were great. I do recommend it and I'm going to give Arrival an 8.5/10.
