Unforgettable - Written Movie Review

Eddie here. Today I'm reviewing Unforgettable, directed by Denise Di Novi, (her directing debut, but she's a well known producer in films such as Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ed Wood, James and the Giant Peach, and many other films) the film stars Rosario Dawson, Katherine Heigl, and Geoff Stults. After a rough end to a long relationship, Tessa (Katherine Heigl) learns that her ex husband David (Geoff Stults) is happily engaged to Julia (Rosario Dawson). Trying to settle into her new life, Julia believes she's met the man of her dreams, a man that can help her forget her dark and troubled past. Soon, Tessa's jealousy starts to consume her and she will stop at nothing to turn Julia and David's relationship into an ultimate nightmare. Now I was a bit nervous seeing this film because it seems we get at least one of these films every year with crazy exes such as The Boy Next Door and Obsessed, to name a few. This film ended up on the ok department for me and it's felt forgettable to me. As for my pros, I did like the performances from Rosario, Katherine, and Geoff. I don't like Katherine Heigl at all as a actress or person, but I felt that she was well casted as a bitchy psychopath. This film does have some great suspense at times and I like how we get to see Rosario Dawson's past, which is just as dark as Geoff and Tessas' past. As for my cons, this film is very unoriginal and the first hour is really boring for the most part. What really got on my nerves the most was the, 'rinse-n-repeat' scenes. It feels like the film was doing each scene over and over again so they can get to the climax as fast as possible. It ended up not being my cup of tea but it wasn't horrible like I thought it would of been. That being said, I'm going to give Unforgettable a 5/10. What were your thoughts on this film ? Leave me a comment below and I'll see you on my next review.
